Who Are We?
We are a member-based, venture capital fund focused on early stage private companies, powered by The Motley Fool's brand, investing approach, and communities. We look for the following characteristics in our portfolio companies: - Early-stage companies (often described as “Series A,” though stage labels can be arbitrary) - Inspiring founders who leverage technology to create a clear competitive advantage and/or disrupt their industry - Companies from a variety of industries and geographic locations (our current portfolio includes investments in such sectors as HR & CultureTech, FinTech, HealthTech, FoodTech, ConstructionTech, and LegalTech, but we are not limited to those sectors) - Revenue between $500,000 (annualized) and $5 million - Current pre-money valuation between $10 million and $50 million - We initially invest $500,000 to approx. $2 million, leaving room for follow-on investment - We seek initial ownership of 5% to 20%, non-controlling - Through our investments, we aim to make our portfolio represent our best vision for the future
