Golden Seeds is a discerning group of angel investors, seeking and funding high-potential, women-led businesses. It is well documented: Women are starting businesses at record levels, with the ideas, skills and talents to build great companies. But like all early-stage entrepreneurs, they need capital to fuel their growth. Golden Seeds, one of the nation’s largest and most active investment groups, focuses squarely on this high-potential segment. Since 2005, Golden Seeds’ members – today over 275 strong – along with its venture funds, have invested over $100 million in nearly 150 exciting women-led enterprises…and counting. Headquartered in New York City, Golden Seeds also has chapters in Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, and Silicon Valley – and active members throughout the coun Golden Seeds Venture Fund (GSVF) has a unique and symbiotic relationship with the Golden Seeds Angel Network. This relationship allows the independently managed Venture Fund to access the entrepreneur funding applications that come to Golden Seeds. In addition, GSVF leverages the Managing Partners’ professional networks, including referrals from other entrepreneurs, portfolio companies, and syndicate partners.

Jo Ann Corkran

Jo Ann Corkran is a managing partner of Golden Seeds Venture Fund, Golden Seeds Fund 2, venture capital funds that invest in high potential, early stage companies with gender diverse management and founding teams. Jo Ann is also a managing member of Golden Seeds LLC, a nationwide investor network with a similar investment thesis. She serves on the board of two SaaS companies: Brandwatch, an AI powered consumer insights company, and Work Truck Solutions, technology to improve efficiency in commercial truck sales. Prior to Golden Seeds Funds, Jo Ann had a more than 20-year career on Wall Street. She has extensive experience in asset management and securities research mainly with Credit Suisse and First Boston. Jo Ann holds a BS in Mathematics from NYU and was a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (Lapsed).
