WHO WE ARE

When Andrée-Lise Méthot founded Cycle Capital, her vision was to build the leading cleantech venture capital platform. The successful addition of a seed and early stage fund, of a third fund in 2013 and of a Chinese fund in 2017 has also required the expansion of the team over the last years. We have an integrated investment management approach taking full advantage of the breadth and diversity of the specific experience and expertise of the whole team in a collaborative fashion. It is with this approach that the Cycle Capital team’s vision has been fully operationalized and has now been scaled to invest in and grow successful growing sustainable companies across North America and in China. Fueled by the participation of our strategic partners, we direct venture capital investment to the best early or growth stage companies, supported by our seasoned team of financiers, engineers, operators working in collaboration with the best entrepreneurial teams to maximize returns on investment. Our “smart money” approach also leverages our vast network of contacts with industrial and business partners. From agriculture technologies to green chemicals, including the new generation of biofuels, biomass transformation, smart grid, energy storage technologies, renewable energies, energy efficiency, Internet of Things (IoT) applied to resources management, big data and technologies dedicated to Smart Cities, we are working with companies that are rapidly and continuously changing the way we live and how we will be doing business in the years to come.

Andree-Lise Methot

Andree-Lise is the founder and Managing Partner of Cycle Capital. She boasts more than 25 years of experience in venture capital, management and engineering. She has set up Cycle Capital, an impact investor and the Canada’s largest cleantech private investment platform. Today, Cycle Capital manages four funds in North America and one in China and has almost half a billion under management. In addition to serving on portfolio companiesÕ boards of directors, she is the Founder and Chairperson of the Ecofuel Accelerator and the Co-Founder of the Ecofuel Fund. She is a member of the Board of Directors and Investment Committee of Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC). She also sits on the Board of the SociŽtŽ QuŽbŽcoise des infrastructures (SQI) and the Institut de Cardiologie de MontrŽal. She is also a member of the Bloomberg New Energy FinanceÕs New Energy PioneersÕ Selection Committee and a member of the Cleantech GroupÕs North-American Advisory Committee. She co-founded ƒcotech QuŽbec, QuŽbecÕs cleantech cluster and SWITCH, the Alliance for a green economy. AndrŽe-Lise co-chaired a Task Force under the auspices of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC). Named an Officer of the Ordre National du QuŽbec, she has been honoured with many distinctions including awards from the Association of Quebec Women in Finance and the Ordre des IngŽnieurs du QuŽbec. She was also recognized as one of CanadaÕs Clean16, named one of the Top 20 cleantech investors by CleanTechnica and amongst the most influential women in sustainable development and in the cleantech industry by Corporate Knight. She has a MasterÕs degree in Science from the UniversitŽ de MontrŽal and a BachelorÕs degree in Geological Engineering from UniversitŽ Laval. She also studied atmospheric physics at the UniversitŽ du QuŽbec ˆ MontrŽal.
