Prem set up the first UK-India Innovation Fund in history , to cross pollinate technology between UK and India and create sustainable economic development through the creation of jobs. He defined the overall strategy and the vision of Pontaq and has successfully demonstrated the growth and expansion of technologies companies from UK to India and vice versa.
Prem has led the firm to foster partnerships with many private organizations and specifically 4 state governments in India, namely Haryana, Gujarat, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu to promote innovation exchange between UK and these state governments. He also established a partnership with the central govt of India and state government of Tamil Nadu to create a Fintech CoE, based out of Chennai, India, in order to incubate Fintech companies India and give them access to UK and beyond.
Prem also successfully enabled setting up the first ever UK-India Tech Hub in UK, in partnership with a £1.7B business district, based out of London. It is believed that, globally, this is the first time a venture capital fund has partnered with an international business district to provide portfolio firms funding and access to international markets.
Under Prem’s leadership, Pontaq has also expanded its operations into India and US, has been identified as one of the key six companies operating in the UK-India corridor by the British High Commission.
Prem’s and Pontaq’s vision is to build a self-sustaining smart city and promote innovation adoption within the city in order to, a vision he fondly calls ÒA Bil for a MilÓ i.e. A Billion pound fund to impact the lives of a million generations.
